Mozart, Fernandez and Beethoven Will Kick off 2017-2018 Season “Old and New”

La Mirada, CA (August 2, 2017) – The La Mirada Symphony begins the 2017/2018 season with selected works from Mozart, Fernandez and Beethoven. The concert will also feature guest performer Francisco Castillo on the oboe.
Under the direction of conductor Alan Mautner, the orchestra will perform the following pieces:
Mozart – Overture to “The Abduction from the Seraglio”
Fernandez – Concerto for Oboe and Strings
Beethoven – Symphony No. 3, in Eb Major
“We’re excited to feature Mr. Castillo on the oboe who will be performing an original piece of music by Fernandez,’ said David Derks, President of the La Mirada Symphony. “This will give the audience an opportunity to listen to something unique to our symphony.”
The concert will take place Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts located at 14900 La Mirada Boulevard La Mirada, CA 90638. The pre-concert discussion begins at 2:15 p.m. and the concert begins immediately afterwards at 3:00 p.m.
